"Start yoga or mindfulness as early as possible”

In this week’s Soulful Sundays mailer, we're reflecting on the timeless wisdom shared by Joan Plowright in the heartwarming documentary, Tea With the Dames starring Dames Judi Dench, Eileen Atkins, Joan Plowright, and the late Maggie Smith.

The Dames get together for tea to reminisce and discuss their acting careers  and when asked “what would be your advice to your younger self” Plowright's advice is simple yet powerful: “I would say get in touch with yoga or mindfulness at quite an early age. And learn about the brain and what influence it has on the body. All those things that I've come to be interested in later on in life and could have done with doing earlier”.

Her perspective, shaped over a lifetime of creativity and resilience, resonates with a growing movement that recognises the profound impact of yogic practices on mental wellbeing.

Around the world, people are increasingly aware of how early engagement with yoga and mindfulness can shape a healthier, more balanced life. This shift is not just about managing our emotions and daily load, but cultivating lifelong habits of self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection.

Did you catch our recent Instagram post which was a clip from The Diary of a CEO podcast? It sparked such a beautiful response from our community. So many of you shared your thoughts and reposted the clip, affirming just how valuable yoga and mindfulness practices are.
